The Eastern High School marching band has received “superior” at the State Marching Band finals once again.

Jordan Michael, Eastern Local School District Superintendent, said, “The Eastern High School Competitive marching band had one of the best competition seasons in school history and one of the best in Brown County History. We currently have 80 kids in our marching band and color guard, which is amazing for a school our size. It is truly amazing what our band director has built in eight years.”

Under the direction of Timothy Hoagland, the Eastern Brown Marching Band has earned a “superior” ranking at State Marching Band finals for the second straight year. Their show was called, “Mad World”.

Superior is the highest rating possible a band can earn at the State Marching Band finals (SMBF), which were held at Piqua High School.

Color guard advisor is Sarica Lilly.

Eastern Band has made the finals over the past five years of the competition – 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. The 2020 competition was cancelled due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
